Our school celebrated the International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm on 21st June, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical health, mental well-being, and inner peace. The programme aimed to encourage students and staff to adopt yoga as a way of life for maintaining a healthy body and a balanced mind.
The celebration began with a special morning assembly, where the significance of the International Day of Yoga and this year's theme was explained. The Principal addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of yoga in reducing stress, improving concentration, and fostering self-discipline.
A mass yoga session was conducted under the guidance of trained instructors and Physical Education teachers. Students, teachers, and staff actively participated in performing various yoga asanas, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, Trikonasana, and Padmasana, followed by pranayama and meditation exercises. The participants performed the Common Yoga Protocol with dedication and enthusiasm.
To make the celebration more meaningful, students also shared speeches, thoughts, and slogans highlighting the benefits of yoga. The programme emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a holistic practice that nurtures harmony between the body, mind, and spirit.
The celebration concluded with a pledge to incorporate yoga into daily life and inspire others to embrace healthy living. The programme was a grand success, leaving the participants refreshed, motivated, and aware of the importance of regular yoga practice in achieving overall well-being.
The observance of the International Day of Yoga reaffirmed the school's commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and holistic development among its students and staff.
